Fast and Easy Critter Coloring with a Water Brush

These cute little critters are from a Pretty Pink Posh set called Winter Woodland. Watercolor is a really simple and quick way to color in these adorable little characters. I heat embossed clear over black pigment ink to make it even easier. You should give it a try if you struggle with coloring for cards. If you haven’t already, when you’re visiting my Youtube channel, … Continue reading Fast and Easy Critter Coloring with a Water Brush

Two Distress Inks + Foil Paper = Pretty Maple Leaf Cards

Well, now that it’s September, I can “legally” start creating fall themed projects. I got my hands on the new Tim Holtz Distress color, Crackling Campfire, pulled out my favorite leaf die by Simon Says Stamp, and these pretty cards are the result.  If you haven’t already, when you’re visiting my Youtube channel, be sure and subscribe. Also, click the notification bell so you’ll know … Continue reading Two Distress Inks + Foil Paper = Pretty Maple Leaf Cards

A pretty background stamp + distress ink smooshed rainbows!

This background stamp does all the work with a little help from some distress inks. I smooshed the inks onto the background and then used water to move it around. Super easy, messy, and beautiful! This background stamp is from Simon Says Stamp (SSS) but you can find them everywhere! They can be more expensive than a regular stamp set, but totally worth the investment. … Continue reading A pretty background stamp + distress ink smooshed rainbows!

Simple, Autumn Themed, Square Card Project

I. Love. Fall. Cooler temperatures, less humidity (I live in Michigan so there’s lots of humid air in the summer), and of course, the fall colors. My favorite color is orange, specifically that beautiful rusty, sunset orange that is so prominent in the autumn season. Yummy! I’ve had these dies since last fall and am just now getting around to playing with them. I love … Continue reading Simple, Autumn Themed, Square Card Project

A Sweet Hello

I sometimes get stuck for inspiration with a new stamp set. This was the case with the Simon Says Stamp set Thoughtful Flowers. So, I just started stamping it on different paper stock to see what it would look like. I had some Kraft card stock on my work table and instantly thought “tone on tone”. That’s how these really pretty, any occasion, cards came … Continue reading A Sweet Hello

A “Welcome to Your New Home” Card Project

A friend of mine recently sold her home. Being very excited for the couple that just relocated and made the purchase, she wanted to give them a “Welcome to Your New Home” card. I came up with a few ideas for her and decided to make a video of the process. Thanks to a stamp set from Simon Says Stamp and some die sets from … Continue reading A “Welcome to Your New Home” Card Project

Artsy Leaves + Magicals = Pretty Fall Card Project

My second favorite season is fall and my favorite type of art is abstract. These cool little leaf dies by Sizzix live up to both and they practically jumped into my cart at Hobby Lobby. I couldn’t wait to get home and create a card project with them. So I grabbed some Lindy’s Magical powders and here’s what I came up with… And, in case … Continue reading Artsy Leaves + Magicals = Pretty Fall Card Project

Christmas in July Made Easy

I’m not sure why July elicits thoughts of Christmas. Maybe it’s because it’s the middle of the year, sort of. Or maybe because it’s pretty hot in this part of the world and folks are longing for cooler weather. Whatever the reason, businesses and artists alike participate. So, I thought I’d get in, just under the wire, and play along. This project went super fast … Continue reading Christmas in July Made Easy

Poppy Background Stamp

I feel like I can’t even take any credit for these cards… this Simon Says Stamp background stamp is so gorgeous all on it’s own! I mean, look at it! These cards practically made themselves. Add a few colors of Distress Ink for color, a simple sentiment and there ya go, three beautiful cards. Here’s the video showing all the steps… If you haven’t already, … Continue reading Poppy Background Stamp

Abstract Watercolor Backgrounds

Happy Birthday and “just because” cards are super important to have on hand. Plus, they’re a very convenient excuse to make some cards… am I right? These cards were done using Daniel Smith watercolor paints (my personal favorite), some low tack washi tape, a border sized embossing folder, a few random thin metal dies, some embossing powder, and some bling. I just threw them together in … Continue reading Abstract Watercolor Backgrounds
