Mini Slimline | Watercolor Garden on Black

In today’s card tutorial I make a couple of pretty mini slimline cards (mine are 3⅛” x 6¼”) and a couple of bonus bookmarks. I’ve had this stamp set, Floral Garden, since last spring and just now got around to playing with it. I know, it took a minute. 😂 Anyway, I love all things shiny and shimmery so I pulled out my Iridescent Shimmering Watercolor set and got to painting.

This technique is super easy because you just paint inside the heat embossed lines. The embossing helps the liquid stay in place. I started out using clear embossing powder and it was really hard to see, (this is why I have extras to make book marks with 😁). I then tried Metallic Platinum embossing powder for a subtle outline and I think it turned out really pretty. You can watch the entire video and see the supply list below.

If you visit a store and what you want is out of stock, be sure and ask to be notified by email when the item is back in stock. It’s usually quite quick and always worth the wait. 😉

Thanks for hanging out with me!

Remember, if mailing a card with layers and embellishments in the United States, be sure and buy “non-machinable” postage, (about $0.78 in the US and $1.30 from US to International addresses) so your cards don’t get smooshed in the USPS postal machines. Hand deliver to the USPS and tell them to “hand cancel” or be sure and write “non-machinable” on the front of the envelope if you’re leaving it in your mailbox for pick up.
