Liquid Watercolor

Dragonflies and Cattails

Nothing says summer to me like sitting on my back porch looking out over our wetland and watching the dragonflies flit around the cattails… hopefully munching all the mosquitos before they get to my yard!

Summer also means my birthday, July 1st, and this year I splurged on myself and bought a set of liquid watercolor paints. I had a great coupon for one of my local craft stores and picked up a set of Dr. Ph. Martin’s Watercolors. I’ve been eyeballing them for a while now, but could never justify the price since I have loads of paint already. But, after watching other crafty artists on Youtube, I had to try this magic. And, magic it is!

The colors are incredibly vibrant and they blend beautifully. I was happily surprised at how easy they were to use. I highly recommend them.

So, now I had these pretty little sample pieces that were begging to be made into cards. I laid some different colored papers on them and discovered that the black just made them pop. So, I went digging through my stash of die cuts and came across this beautiful cattail element, (Memory Box Cattail Die) that I had yet to use. Then, ta-da, these pretty little cards came to life.

I hope you enjoy watching the process. Thanks for taking the time to hang out with me. Β ~Michelle
